MCC graduates who have been immersed in courses in our Business Technology Program
and in four weeks of job readiness called STRIVE often want to use their positive
personalities in retail sales. STRIVE helps them adjust to the corporate culture
and the behaviors demanded in those settings. They learn conflict resolution, how
to handle difficult customers and how to work as a team member. They also graduate
with computer skills so that they are comfortable with the technology that is part of
any modern business setting. They can perform tasks using Word and PowerPoint and
prepare spreadsheets using Excel. Many of our students enter manager level positions
right out of this program. Students have gone on to work at major department stores and at chains such as Au Bon Pain.
