The STRIVE for Green Pathways out of Poverty training program will create an unprecedented opportunity for MCC to address the chronic skills gap crisis and enables low-income individuals – particularly communities of color – to get a foothold in the emerging green economy.
Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry & Connelly FoundationThis support will prepare young Philadelphians to transition from high school, in some cases alternative high school environments, to productive lives post high school. Students will earn an A+ Certification and will complete college credit-bearing courses at the same time.
Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry & Philadelphia Workforce Development CorporationHealthcare jobs are on both Philadelphia’s and Pennsylvania’s list of high priority occupations where workers are still being hired despite the current economic downtown. The training program will prepare students for the CPAT credential awarded by the American Association of Healthcare Administrative Management (AAHAM) for entry into the healthcare profession.
Pennsylvania Department of Labor and IndustryGreen Economy Pathways for Women means female heads of households who reside in Philadelphia’s high poverty communities can prepare to enter and re-enter the workforce of the 21st Century. Green Economy Pathways for Women will recruit, train, and place low-income women into livable wage green economy jobs.
